Silkscreen Printing
Silk screen printing, or serigraphy, is a stencil-based technique using a mesh screen to transfer ink onto surfaces like fabric, paper, or wood. A design-blocking emulsion is exposed to light, leaving open mesh areas for a squeegee to force ink through. It is ideal for vibrant, durable, and solid-color graphics.
Riso Printing
Risograph (Riso) printing is a high-speed, eco-friendly, stencil-based printing process, similar to a digital screen print. It produces vibrant, matte, and unique prints using soy-based inks, with a distinctive "imperfect" aesthetic often featuring slight misalignments. Popular for artists, zines, and posters, it is affordable for high-volume, limited-color projects.
Etching is an intaglio printmaking technique where lines are incised into a metal plate (copper, zinc, or iron) using acid rather than tools. The plate is coated in an acid-resistant ground, drawn upon, and submerged in acid, which eats away exposed lines. Ink is applied to the plate, wiped from the surface, and transferred to damp paper via high-pressure printing.
